You won’t find loving-kindness in the New Testament (Brit Chadasha, Hadashah), it is only in the Old Testament (Tanakh). Instead, in the New Testament (Brit Chadasha, Hadashah) you will find grace, faithfulness, and faith.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Exo 20:19
Then they said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, lest we die.”
That’s why God(Elohim) had to send a prophet like Moses, He can’t speak directly to the people without them dying. That’s why He said I had to send a prophet like Moses because He said in Deuteronomy 18 God(Elohim) is going to send a prophet like Me to talk to you.
Deut 18:16-19
“This is according to all that you asked of the LORD your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, let me not see this great fire anymore, lest I die.’ 17“And the LORD said to me, ‘They have spoken well. (So, what did He do? He sent His Word made flesh to talk to us.)18‘I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. 19‘And it shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him.
1 Samuel 26:23
“And the LORD will repay each man for his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the LORD delivered you into my hand today, but I refused to stretch out my hand against the LORD’s anointed.
2 Chronicles 31:20-21, 32:1
And thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah; and he did what was good, right, and true before the LORD his God. 21And every work which he began in the service of the house of God in law and in commandment, seeking his God, he did with all his heart and prospered. 32:1 After these acts of faithfulness Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah and besieged the fortified cities, and thought to break into them for himself.
Psalms 89:1 I Will sing of the lovingkindness of the LORD forever; To all generations I will make known Your faithfulness with my mouth.
Psalms 89:2 For I have said, “Lovingkindness will be built up forever; In the heavens You will establish Your faithfulness.”
What did Paul write, upon grace you’ve been saved through faith(fulness).
Did Torah exist before Mount Sinai?
Gen 38:24
Now it was about three months later that Judah was informed, “Your daughter-in-law Tamar has played the harlot, and behold, she is also with child by harlotry.” Then Judah said, “Bring her out and let her be burned!”
Why would he say, “Bring her out and let her be burned!”? He thinks she has just been playing the harlot. This is another example of how the Torah was followed by His people in that day. He called for her to be burned, that is in accordance with Torah.
Leviticus 21:9 ‘Also the daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by harlotry, she profanes her father; she shall be burned with fire.
That’s what Judah called for.
Exodus 19:5-6 ‘Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; 6and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”
All of Israel are to be priests, if they are obedient in keeping the Torah. Literally, he is the son of Israel. Look at how detailed the Torah is being followed here, with the Levirate law and the daughter of a priest being a harlot is to be burned. That’s pretty detailed in following the Torah.
Then we have the account of Joseph and the wife of Potiphar.
Gen 39:9
“There is no one greater in this house than I, and he has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do this great evil, and sin against God?”
This is an enormous declaration of faithfulness by Joseph. How does he know that adultery is sin if there was no Torah? There was the Torah, had to be the Torah, and not only that, who does he say the sin is against? God(Elohim), adultery is a sin against God(Elohim).
Psalms 51:4 Against You, You only, I have sinned, And done what is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You do speak, And blameless when You do judge.
David writes here in Psalm 51:4 it’s only against God(Elohim)we sinned, don’t we sin against each other? No, we really don’t, sin is lawlessness, right? Breaking of the law of the Torah, whose Torah, is it? It’s His, you’re breaking His Torah. So, your sin is against Him. We do transgress against one another, and we need to make atonement, ask for forgiveness, when that happens. But sin by definition, is against God(Elohim). Now this thing with Joseph, that’s another piece of overwhelming evidence that the Torah was known by men before the time of Mount Sinai. If chapter 38 doesn’t convince you with Judah and Tamar I don’t know if anything will, it talks about the Levirate law and the harlot of a priest is to be burned and all that kind of stuff, we’re getting the priests by detail here, about how Torah was known. Joseph knows that nothing in Potiphar’s house and all his possessions is withheld from him, except his wife.
Exo 6:20
And Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, and she bore him Aaron and Moses; and the length of Amram’s life was one hundred and thirty-seven years.
Who did Moses’s dad marry? His father’s sister, that’s a no no. They already knew the Torah we’ve proven that they knew the Torah.
Exo 8:26
But Moses said, “It is not right to do so, for we shall sacrifice to the LORD our God what is an abomination to the Egyptians. If we sacrifice what is an abomination to the Egyptians before their eyes, will they not then stone us? This is another interesting thing about the Torah. He knew that the sacrifices consisted of cows and bulls, how would he know that if he didn’t know the Torah? Pharoah tried to compromise but Israelite worship was offensive to the Egyptians they worshipped the bull God Apis and the cow goddess Hathor. Furthermore, Moses had to leave the land in order to be obedient to God’s(Yahweh’s) command. You can’t sacrifice where you want to, you can’t do that.
